We haven’t heard the Last of Survivor Cook Island’s First booted member Sekou Bunch. Sekou Bunch has produced an album for Survivor. In the Survivor Final cast show, sekouSekou Bunch Survivor Cook Islands will introduce us to his music.

He became famous as the first to exit this year’s show. When Sekou Bunch heard the words, “The tribe has spoken …” just three days into his Survivor: Cook Islands adventure, he remained calm, exited THE game with dignity - and simultaneously switched HIS own “game” into high gear.
As the first player ousted from this year’s controversial Survivor series, Sekou garnered accolades for the manner in which he departed the TV show. Now, the musician is receiving additional praise for the new song he has crafted, entitled, “Survivor.” Sekou will DEBUT the work LIVE on Survivor’s December 17th finale. The single will spawn a new album, The Next Level, out in early 2007.Sekou Bunch Survivor Cook Islands Music

Sekou (which translates to leader and warrior) turned his early exit from the show into a mega-opportunity, penning the “Survivor” tune himself, while also performing on the recording as bassist and lead vocalist.

Sekou notes, “Being the first on voted off didn’t faze me. I felt victorious. I was given such a great opportunity and the experience of a lifetime. I was chosen and felt that I did my part. What was more important to me, was not being voted off, but being asked to be on the show in the first place. Now, with the release of this song, I am given the chance to follow my musical dreams, as well.”

Prior to his Survivor appearance, the musician, songwriter and sometimes actor enjoyed a distinguished career in show business. The long list of collaborators that have worked with Sekou include the likes of Quincy Jones, Rod Stewart, Stevie Wonder, Roger Daltry, Survivor Cook Island African American TribeWhitney Houston, Luther Vandross, Anita Baker, Chaka Khan, Toni Braxton, the late Ray Charles, Liza Minnelli and the Tonight Show Band, to namedrop only a few.

He adds, “I’m looking forward to performing this track live on the show and seeing the other cast members.”

Sekou plans to follow this release of the new single with the full-length album, The Next Level slated for launch at the beginning of 2007. Guest artists on the CD will include Boney James, Angela Winbush and Stanley Clark, among others.
